Tangem Hardware Wallets
Physical cards and rings designed to generate and protect private keys inside a secure chip. Explore hardware features, compare device sets, and choose your hardware wallet.
Hardware key generation and backup
During setup, the secure chip generates a private key. Compatible backup cards can be linked through an encrypted process. Once setup is complete, the cards provide physical access to the same wallet.
Security & Reliability
Each Tangem Wallet uses a powerful certified microchip developed together with Samsung Semiconductors.
High-grade chip security. EAL6+ certification provides advanced resistance to both invasive and non-invasive attacks.
Protection against counterfeits. Every Tangem card is verified as authentic to maintain a secure, trusted, and consistent connection.
Independently audited firmware. Kudelski Security and Riscure have independently reviewed the firmware to confirm its authenticity and reliability.
25-year limited hardware warranty
With proper care, the Tangem hardware wallet is designed to last at least 25 years. Its one-piece construction helps keep the chip operational even under demanding conditions.
A simple chip-and-antenna construction. There are no fragile components that are easily prone to failure.
Built to withstand environmental hazards. Designed to resist X-rays, electromagnetic pulses, and electrostatic discharge.
* According to ISO 7816-1IP69K. Fully waterproof and pressure-resistant, including in demanding conditions.
–25° to 50°C. Built to tolerate both freezing temperatures and intense heat.

Common questions about Tangem Hardware Wallet
Here are answers to some of the questions users ask most often.
-
Yes. A compatible NFC-enabled smartphone and the Tangem companion app are required to set up and use the hardware wallet. The app provides the interface, while the hardware device stores the private keys and signs transactions.
-
Tangem requires no charging or cables and is compact enough to carry with you. That means transactions can be signed wherever you are. Its EAL6+ certification provides a security level comparable to that used in biometric passports.
-
A 3-card set gives you an additional recovery option: if one card is lost, two cards remain available. With a 2-card set, losing one card and forgetting the access code would prevent a reset or wallet recovery.
-
The hardware wallet is designed to operate independently of Tangem servers. Crypto transactions require only your card or ring, a compatible smartphone, and the blockchain.
-
No. The access code helps prevent unauthorized access and protects against brute-force attempts.
-
Using a seed phrase is optional. There are three key generation methods: 1. Use the certified hardware True Random Number Generator (TRNG) that generates and stores keys inside the chip. No copies exist outside your Tangem device (recommended). 2. Generate a seed phrase with the Tangem app and import it to the hardware device. 3. Import your seed phrase from another crypto wallet. Note that seed phrases can be copied and stolen, unlike private keys generated offline.
-
You will not lose access to your funds. Install the Tangem app on another compatible smartphone and use your card or ring to access your portfolio. Sensitive wallet information is not stored on the phone; the phone serves as the interface.
